Insurance for contractors

General liability is the base. We build out the rest of your program around it, tools, workers comp, bonds, auto, and cyber, and shop it across multiple A-rated carriers so you compare real quotes. One conversation to start.

What we cover

The whole program, handled

Coverage built around how you actually work

Most contractors carry a general liability policy and not much thought about the rest. We start with the GL, then round out the program based on your trade, your crew, and how you run the business. You answer a few questions once, and we bring back quotes from multiple carriers to compare.

What we cover

The lines a contractor tends to need. Not every business needs all of them, and that is the point of the conversation.

01

General Liability

The base of every contractor program. Covers third-party bodily injury and property damage from your work. This is the line most renewals turn on.

02

Tools & Equipment

Inland marine coverage for the gear you haul to the job and the materials you are installing, on site or in transit, until the work is accepted.

03

Workers Comp & Stop Gap

Workers comp where the state allows private coverage. In Washington, where comp is state-run, we add Stop Gap employers liability to close the gap the state fund leaves.

04

Surety Bonds

The license or permit bond that keeps you licensed, plus bid, performance, and payment bonds for projects that require them. Issued fast, handled alongside your coverage.

05

Commercial Auto

Coverage for the trucks and vans your business runs. Often the single largest line for a contractor with vehicles, so it is worth shopping properly.

06

Cyber

The line most contractors skip. It covers the fraudulent invoice and the redirected wire, which is how money actually leaves a contracting business. More below.

How it works

1

Tell us how you operate

Your trade, rough revenue, whether you have employees or a shop, and when your general liability renews. A few minutes on the phone.

2

We shop it across carriers

One submission goes to multiple A-rated carriers. We compare the quotes and the terms, not just the price, and bring back the ones that fit how you work.

3

You compare and decide

Real quotes side by side, timed to your renewal so you can move without a gap. No pressure and no meeting to sit through. We shop it and bring back options to compare.

The line most contractors skip

Your biggest exposure is money leaving the business

A contractor moves large, scheduled payments to a churning list of subs and suppliers. That is exactly what a fraudulent invoice or a "we changed our banking details" email is built to exploit, and a single redirected draw can wipe out a job's margin. General liability and builders risk do not respond to that. Cyber does.

It is the line most agents never bring up, and it is the one we make sure fits how money actually moves on your jobs. It rounds out the program rather than leading it.

Contractor insurance FAQ

What coverage does a contractor actually need?

It depends on how you operate, but most contractors carry general liability as the base, plus coverage for their tools and equipment. From there it fills out with workers comp if you have employees, a surety bond to hold your license, commercial auto if you run trucks, an umbrella for higher limits, and cyber to cover invoice and wire fraud. On the quote we look at your trade, your revenue, whether you have a shop, and how many people you have, and build the program from that.

Do you write workers comp in Washington?

Workers comp in Washington is sold by the state fund, not by private carriers, so nobody can quote it for you there. What the state fund leaves out is employers liability, and that gap is filled by a Stop Gap endorsement we add to your liability policy. In Oregon and most other states, workers comp is a normal line we shop for you.

When should I call you?

Before your general liability renews. That is when you can actually compare and move without leaving a gap, and when we can shop your program against multiple carriers. Tell us your renewal date and we work back from it so quotes are ready in time.

Can you handle my license bond too?

Yes. A contractor license or permit bond is required to keep your license active, and we write those, along with bid, performance, and payment bonds if you take on projects that require them. Handling the bond alongside your liability keeps your whole operating stack in one place.

Tell us how you operate and we'll bring back options to compare

From solo operators to established crews. A few minutes to start, quotes timed to your renewal.
